Millwright Mechanic
The Maintenance Millwright installs, modifies, troubleshoots, and repairs machinery, tools, and other facilities equipment as well as performs plumbing, carpentry, machining, welding, and fabrication as required to maintain plant and plant systems. They manage the preventative and predictive maintenance to improve the functionality and safe working order of our equipment and machinery. They take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices. They provide technical assistance and expertise across all groups in design, selection, and implementation of equipment and facilities.
What you’ll be doing as a Millwright Mechanic:
· Must have a passion around safety and be part of our safety culture. A good understanding of safety programs and following safe procedures is paramount.
· Keep assigned areas, as well as general areas, clean and organized.
· Operates all essential machinery and equipment to perform troubleshooting and repairs.
· Assists in preventive and predictive maintenance of equipment and control systems by following the manufacturers established guidelines. Provides recommendations and opportunities for preventive maintenance improvements and implements changes.
· Works within a team environment and maintains a positive, professional attitude with responsive communication. Displays initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.
· Designs, fabricates, and builds basic and/or complex structures, supports, or framework in the execution of daily tasks.
· Operates large mechanical tools such as a drill press, band saw, shears, pipe threaders, brakes, rollers, lathes, and grinders. Operates small power tools including air winches, drills, grinders, etc.
· Operates facility overhead cranes, man-lifts, forklifts, and hoists.
· Required to read and understand drawings, utilizing this knowledge for the installation or repair of new and existing equipment.
· Support validation activities of equipment, product or processes as required. This can include installation, EHS inspection, drawing verification, instrumentation verification, measurements and / or functional testing.
