Internal Loads Engineer (across multiple levels)
We are looking for inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate. Bell is seeking an Internal Loads Engineer to support our many development and production programs. Bring your skills and passion for modeling and simulation to help us analyze advanced rotorcraft structures. This position is onsite at Bell’s Ft. Worth, TX headquarters.
What you’ll be doing as an Internal Loads Engineer
- Develop internal loads using FEM and classical engineering principles.
- Inform and comply with air vehicle structural design criteria by ensuring loading conditions envelop the desired usage spectrum.
- Seek the optimum balance of factors such as safety, performance, cost, schedule, reliability, weight, strength, and stability.
- Coordinate across multiple engineering, manufacturing, supplier, laboratory, flight test, and project management teams.
- Communicate status or issues to teammates, leadership, customers, or authorities at completion milestones during the effort.
- Verify model accuracy and validate results against ground or flight test measurements.
- Develop and author reports to satisfy commercial certification or military customer requirements.
- Create, develop, and maintain Internal Loads/FEM methods for deployment across the analysis community.
Skills You Bring To this Role
- Skilled at creating, developing, and managing large complex finite element models of airframes comprising advanced composite and/or metallic structure. Experience with rotorcraft airframe structure is a bonus.
- Experience with finite element tools such as Nastran, Patran, ANSYS Workbench and Mechanical, Altair HyperWorks, or Abaqus/CAE.
- Experience with product definition and release process using 3DX, CATIA, Enovia, or equivalent.
- Able to motivate yourself and others to act decisively.
- Effective communication and organizational agility across large cross functional teams
- Prioritize tasks while maintaining flexibility through the fast paced, evolving environment
What you need to be successful
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Multiple levels will be considered for this position.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a major in Aerospace, Mechanical or other related disciplines.
- Advanced degrees in relevant engineering disciplines or areas of focus will be considered as additional experience.
