About This Role
An SSC Program Manager ensures that technical, cost, and scheduling aspects of the program are consistent with program milestones, cost control and cost reduction programs and ensure that contract commitments are met.
Responsibilities
- Manage SSC post-delivery technical and logistical support, including deploying field service reps, spare parts purchases, responding to requests for proposals, setting up new projects, managing to budget baseline, reporting status and variances, planning and implementing corrections, and other tasks as required.
- Manage guarantee periods for each craft sold. Assess guarantee period claims for validity and impact to Textron production and respond appropriately. Recommend creative solutions to support customer needs while minimizing impact to production.
- Maintain involvement in all aspects of the program to identify and anticipate issues, seek solutions, and implement resolutions for the overall effectiveness of the program.
- Drive multiple simultaneous purchasing efforts, coordinating with internal supporting organizations to ensure timely delivery of parts and services to the customer.
- Regularly present status of all efforts, plans, and challenges to internal and external customers.
- Persistently communicate with leadership and supporting organizations to ensure coordination on cost, schedule, challenges, risks, and any other pertinent information.
- Develop and obtain approval for action plans required to resolve performance, budget and schedule variances.
- Ensure that functional organizations provide scope of work, budget, and schedule updates in a timely manner.
- Interface directly with customers, suppliers, and outside services such as consultants and legal counsel.
- Assist in marketing and proposal efforts for U.S. and foreign customers.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the engineering sciences or a related field.
- Seven-years of experience in program management, government contracts or management and/or administration
- Three-years of experience working with Navy contracts is preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of the importance of providing timely, quality support to customers while meeting the requirements of the contract.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and leverage relationships which maximize outcomes of responsible program goals.
- Must be able to obtain U.S. Government Secret clearance.
