We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort.
This position is onsite in Wichita, KS. The work shift is Monday through Thursday reporting at 6:00am to 4:30pm.
Logistics and Inventory Coordinator, Bell Wichita FLRAA
The Logistics and Inventory Coordinator is responsible for a variety of tasks including dispatch coordination, material inventory management, packaging and crating of aircraft components, and picking up and delivering inbound products and parts.
What you’ll be doing as a Logistics and Inventory Coordinator
- Coordinate dispatch of materials, tooling, and products to and from production areas.
- Monitor and ensure on-time and specification deliveries.
- Communicate with departments to confirm delivery schedules and resolve issues.
- Reconcile material and tooling records using Manufacturing Execution Systems and SAP
- Monitor compliance with time-sensitive material requirements.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and locations within the warehouse.
- Perform cycle counts and participate in full inventory audits.
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming deliveries.
- Label time-sensitive materials and document serialization.
- Issue materials to production lines and process inventory transactions.
- Handle battery and fuel tank maintenance on forklift equipment.
- Wrap, pack, and label aircraft components and materials for storage or shipment.
- Construct and inspect custom crates and packaging for aircraft components.
- Secure products for transport and load/unload trucks.
Skills You Bring To this Role:
- Knowledge of warehouse and inventory management practices.
- Familiarity with dispatch and logistics coordination.
- Proficiency in using material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings and packaging specifications.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 25lbs without assistance, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks required in packaging and crating.
- Manual dexterity for handling small parts and packaging materials.
- Able to work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and potential temperature variations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills for inventory data entry and reporting.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and other departments.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of logistics operations within a manufacturing environment and will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials throughout the facility.
What you need to be successful:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- At least 2 years of experience in shipping and receiving transactions, material handling, inventory control, or packaging within a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
- Must complete company-provided training to become a certified forklift operator within 2 weeks of starting this job.
- Ability to wear PPE and adhere to Bell Safety practices and procedures.
- Able to support Manufacturing on an as needed basis during overtime hours
