What you will be doing as a Security Officer:
In this role, you can expect to control access to company facilities, maintain a visible presence to protect employees and visitors, and secure company property and equipment. You'll respond to emergencies, support unarmed security guards, conduct patrols and inspections, and manage crowd, parking, and traffic control. Armed with a sidearm, you'll ensure the safety and security of our premises without acting in the capacity of a law enforcement officer.
Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
· Security Response: Deter, respond to, and engage in active shooter incidents or workplace violence, using de-escalation techniques when feasible
· Firearm Proficiency: Demonstrate certified firearm proficiency, safety, familiarity, and tactics; meet all conceal and carry permit requirements
· Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with all levels of employees in a tactful and respectful manner, reacting well under pressure, especially in large group settings
· Problem Solving: Identify, define, and resolve problems by collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions; develop alternative solutions and make sound business decisions based on collected data
· Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance and functional operation of company-issued equipment
· Regulatory Compliance: Follow standard operating procedures and government regulations related to security of weapons, buildings, personnel, government property, and equipment
· Inspections and Checks: Conduct personnel, vehicular, building, and facility checks, as well as package and parcel inspections
· First Aid: Perform basic first aid, CPR, and AED as necessary prior to first responders
· Termination Assistance: Assist in the employee termination process upon request by Security Leadership or HR
What you need to be successful:
• A high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification is required
a. A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Security Management or related degree is helpful
• Ability to successfully complete all training and obtain all required permits, licenses, and certifications for the site, including but not limited to, a municipality Security Guard permit, and a state concealed carry permit is required
• At least 5 years of experience in law enforcement or specified military occupation service (MOS) is required
• Meet any Federal, State, or Municipal requirements to work as an Armed Security Guard is required
• Capability to work flexible hours to include some weekends and holidays is required
• Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license is required
• Ability to pass annual background check and maintain the ability to legally carry a firearm is required
• Ability to be adjudicated to possess a government clearance at any time during employment is helpful
